    This year New Mexico Tech is excited to announce the return of an in person open house experience for Exploration Day! In celebration, we are making this event bigger than ever! This year we will be bringing everyone who attends a wide variety of experimental demos and competitions hosted by our world class faculty and current NMT students. You will have the chance to fly drones inside our on-campus drone cage*, witness a live battle bot competition+, check out a mini baja car, plus much more. As usual, this will also be a chance to learn more about our academic programs, various student services such as financial aid, housing, student clubs, and more. What are you waiting for?     We are also excited to announce our featured keynote speaker for this years event, Director of Aerospace Operations at Spaceport America, Dr. Bill Gutman! Dr. Gutman oversees aerospace operations including space launches and airfield management. He serves as the primary liaison with the US Army White Sands Missile Range, manages launches and flight safety, maintains the FAA launch site operator license, and manages spaceport technical instrumentation.     * "New Mexico Tech has established a drone cage along with virtual reality devices and flight simulators in Skeen Library (NMT) that is equipped with multiple tracking systems, sensors, cameras, wind generators, obstacles, drones, work-stations, etc. Besides the outreach activities, this setup is used by NMT students for flight training purposes and their relevant research."     + FIGHTING ROBOTS! STUDENT-CREATED ARENA! STUDENTS COMPETING AGAINST EACH OTHER, FACULTY, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS! Don't miss this thrilling event on Saturday, November 6th when the NMT Robotic Combat STEM Outreach program will host its next tournament  The tournament welcomes teams of students, faculty, and the general public to compete against each other in a double elimination tournament on NMT's campus.
